Not The Best Travel Iron, But It Has It's Pros
I have to say, I had high hopes for this little baby when I saw it. Knowing Sedu's reputation and the fabulous products they make, I thought this little styler might be the answer to all my travel dreams. Sadly, it does not live up to the fabulousity of it's larger predecessors, and that's probably due to the fact that it is so small. However, don't count this little iron out for the count. It is quite useful. The reason I say the shortie is not a travel dream is because, let's face it, travel dryers do not have the same potency of their full-sized parents. I have the revolution travel dryer, and while it leaves my morkie's hair silky smooth, my long, thick mane still somewhat takes on the shape of a small shrub. The shortie just doesn't quite have the power to take on my hair, unless I spend an hour and a half in the bathroom going through 1/2" sections of hair...I'm not that patient a girl. I will say, however, after using my full-sized dryer my hair is relatively straight and smooth. All it needs are a few touch ups. This is where the shortie finds its niche. The small size, while inconvienient for a full-size travel substitute, makes it perfect for carrying around during the day, to work or to touch up your hair before a date. I carry it to school and use it before concerts and when I go out at night because after a few hours dancing, my hair looks like a hot mess. The real reason I gave this little iron 4 stars is because it can tackle the annoying little baby hairs around my temples that my larger iron just can't take on without burning me. For me, that makes this little baby worth it's weight in gold. I stopped straightening my hair as much these past few years because my iron would leave crease marks by my roots and temples, but the shortie takes care of the shortcomings of my full-sized styler. Overall, if you're looking for the perfect iron to take on all your travel needs, this may not be the iron for you, unless you have short, thin hair. But if you're looking for a convienient little addition to your full-sized iron that's perfect for touch ups, flyaways, and roots, the shortie is an exactly what you need.
