Worste Iron Ever
I had read so many rest reviews about this iron that I decided to order one. When it arrived I was surprised at how cheaply made it looked. I switched it on and started using it. I instantly felt a snagging and a pulling sound when it reached the ends of my hair. When I looked down I could see bits of hair had broken off..I was horrified ! I have been the very first GHD iron ever made for ten years now and it's never ever snagged or broken my hair off. The reason I wanted a new iron was I was looking for one with adjustable heat settings as the GHD was too hot for my bleached fine hair. After testing the sedu for two days I decided to return it for a refund. Unfortunately as I'm in Australia I have had to pay postage costs for this. I will never buy an iron before I try it first in the store.

Update To Previous Review - Straightener Repaired & Wonderful!
I'm updating the previous review that I wrote. I had used this hair straightener for a week while traveling in Europe and then unfortunately it broke. I sent it in to Folica since they offer a 2 year warranty and they repaired it and sent it back immediately. Unfortunately I couldn't test it out until I went on my next international trip because of the voltage difference. Well I just went on vacation to Thailand and used this straightener with an adapter (the plug type in Thailand is type C) and it worked great! I love this straightener so much more than my Chi! And I let my friends borrow it and now they all want to buy one too! It makes my hair so silky, smooth and straight and it works so much faster than my Chi. It really does change the texture of my hair making it feel so silky! I love it and am definitely recommending it to friends!

Great Iron
I ordered this iron after almost ruining one flat iron and completely ruining another after trying to use a converter (and adapter) to use my 110v FHI in Europe. As I learned after reading countless reviews on converters (which are intended to change voltage) adapters (which merely change the prongs of your plug), flat irons and blowdryers tend to be too powerful to effectively use with converters - as a result, people have mixed experiences - sometimes they work, sometimes they don't! After ruining my most recent flat iron, I decided to jut buy one intended for use in Europe. This iron was perfect for and used in France and worked beautifully. Since I now have a 220-240v iron, I will only need adapters to use it in other parts of the world that use 220 -240v rather than 110-120v. I had not used a Sedu but had high expectations. I loved the iron with one exception, the plastic covering the plates gets VERY hot making it almost impossible to touch the plates to assist with curling - something I do very easily with my iron at home. Thus, I would call this iron a pure straightening iron, as opposed to those with rounded, thicker covering on the plates that make curling easy. Otherwise, my hair was left smooth and shiny - arguably better than my FHI. I am considering switching to a Sedu at home as well - assuming I can confirm that there is one that won't fry my fingers when I try to curl (I am pretty sure I saw one on this site). For context, I have natural kinky hair that is quite fine and color treateed.

Worked Great For A Week And Then It Broke!
This hair straightener worked wonderfully, even better than my chi. I was traveling for a month in Iceland, Spain and Portugal and at first this hair straightener worked great. I have very wavy hair and I liked that I could adjust the temperature and was surprised by how quickly it straightened my hair and my hair stayed straight all day. I thought that it worked great, but after only using it for a week, it BROKE and would not turn back on...luckily it has a 2 year warranty so I just sent it in. I'll update my review once they fix it and return the straightener to me. I really hope that I have no issues once they fix it because it was a very nice straightener.

You Won't Find Better!
I was hesitant to spend so much on a flat iron, but this baby is 100% worth it! I have very thick, long hair and can straighten it all in 5 minutes! Heats quickly. The adjustible temperature allows me to adjust it for my daughters fine, thin hair and not burn it.
