Nice, More Natural Curls
I like this iron enough to overlook the flaws. I use it with the clamp. If I take off the clamp, screws will be exposed at the base that can snag my hair - this is the biggest flaw in my mind - those awful screws. I gently clamp a twisted end, then twist and wrap at the same time, as if I were using a curling wand, and get good results with loose waves and no clamp marks - the clamp is very loose. It looks best if I already have smooth ends since it doesn't curl the ends much. I don't have layers, that might be frustrating with this iron. It takes a little more patience than a clipless curler. I don't like the guide, I haven't found a way to use it without having it leave marks in my hair. Also, beware the loose temperature dial. This gets hot and the dial works to change the temperature, but it will move on you if you aren't careful. Bottom line: innovative appliance with obvious flaws, may require some trial and error.
