Great Product Line, But Skip This One
I started using the Nexxus Pro-Mend shampoo, conditioner, and daily leave-in treatment this July while attempting to grow out my hair, which is thin and delicate. I began noticing my hair was less frizzy and more manageable within the first few days. My split ends were less noticeable after the first week, but if I went a day or two without shampooing, they looked just as bad as they had before. So the "mending" isn't permanent, but I really liked how my hair smelled and felt, and it's a decent price to boot. This shampoo, however, was the only thing I found lacking. I live in a muggy climate, so my scalp gets pretty oily if I go more than a couple of days without cleansing, and this shampoo just didn't make my hair feel clean. Not wanting to waste it, I started using a clarifying shampoo once a week or so. Most importantly, though, this shampoo really aggravated my eczema. It took a while to figure out what started the breakout, but as soon as I stopped using my Pro-Mend products, the itchy neck and scalp healed beautifully. I'm waiting to start using the conditioner and leave-in treatment for now, but I'm almost positive it's the shampoo. I'll leave a review for the others as soon as I've made sure they aren't irritating my skin, as well. So if your skin is drier than it is oily, and you don't have sensitivities to certain chemicals, you may like this shampoo alright. It doesn't have the active ingredients that mend the split ends, anyhow.
