Best On Fried, Dried (compared To More Expensive Products)
I'm a mixed race female with naturally soft, tight spiraled hair. My problem is, it frizzy badly in humid weather. I'd been coloring and using a gel perm at home for the past few years with good results. I recently had a perm disaster. I lost track of time and over processed my hair. It was dry, rough, and porous. I tried having a couple of inches cut off, but it wasn't enough and the hair that was left was also fried. When I ran my fingers through it, it felt like straw. The ends were worse and bushed up within a week of the hair cut. I bought EVERYTHING. Kerestase, Matrix, It's a 10, protein packs, and 2 plastic shopping bags from salon shelves. I also used them with a heated conditioning cap. Redken Extreme gave me the best results. I left it on for about an hour. Probably 45 mins. under the heat cap. My hair was softer and shinier than with any of the other products. It felt the closest to normal hair. My finger could glide through it, but the ends needed trimming. Although I can still tell where the the damage is, my cuts look and feel better longer. If you have really damaged hair, try this before you spend a lot of money on other stuff. It isn't as expensive as a lot of the other things I tried. If it doesn't work for you, it won't cost you a fortune. This will at least allow me to keep the hair I have while I let the damage grow out, and I won't be afraid that someone else might touch it. I've also switched to wash out color, and I ALWAYS use Infusium moisturizing, leave-in.
