Aveda Brilliant Anti-Humectant Pomade

This product is wonderful for thick, curly hair that tends to frizz in the humidity. I have been using it for years and find I can't live without it!

I didn't really care much for this product when I first started using it back in '09, but since then, it's really grown on me. I have very very thick, very curly, long dark brown hair, and I only use this when I straighten it (though I've heard it works well when leaving it curly). It definitely gives your hair a boost of shine, which I love, but I don't think it fights humidity quite as well as other reviewers on this site and the Aveda site have claimed. If I get too hot or start sweating, my hair still poofs and frizzes as much as it would without using this product in my opinion. Maybe I'm just not using it correctly or maybe it's just my hair type, but there you have it. It's expensive, but as others have said, a little goes a pretty long way, and since I don't really straighten my hair that often (maybe every few weeks), it has lasted me a long time. I'm actually just now finishing up the first jar I bought in '09.

I attended an Aveda school a few years back. I hated all of their products until I used this product. Once the weather gets humid it is very hard to keep my hair tamed. I wear my hair straight all of the time and with this product I can. Even in 102 degree temps. It should be used after you dry and style your hair. As a finishing product and only just a little.

This product has been apart of my staple for six years. Yes, it is expensive but a little bit of this goes a long way. The four ounce jar last me for about ten months. If your hair frizzes from the huminity, this is the product for you. Just rub a little bit on the palm of your hands and run your hands through your hair from roots to the ends. DONT forget to focus on your ends.

I have tried hundreds of hair products. I have thick, naturally curly hair, that Ive always insisted on wearing as strait as possible. Harder back in the days before all the great flat irons. This is the one product that Ive come back to and never found anything comparable. I apply after my hair is dry and flat ironed- it adds a great shine, smooths out the hair, and also adds just enough ability to work with it that its never greasy [could be if you use too much so experiment]
