France Luxe Small Bit Headband

Adorable head band and very smart looking...but unfortunately another France Luxe product that doesn't deliver.

Super cute headband, comfortable, versatile, and the price is reasonable...my only complaint is that the silk ribbon on top can slip off the band pretty easily, as it's attached only on the two ends of the headband. Just be careful when putting on and removing headband and you'll be pleased.

With the caveat that this would have earned 5 stars if I'd received almost any other color (and taking exception to a TINY flaw, which I'll describe later), this VIP Reviewer is very impressed with both the look and feel of the France Luxe Small Bit Headband. I received the Hot Pink in 100% silk charmeuse with a gold rider's bit detail which rests off-center on the headband. The bit stays in place with the help of a thick length of silk folded through the bit loops, which is layered over still more silk, covering the headband, itself. With fully padded tips, the headband stays in place in your hair, but never feels like it's squeezing your scalp; in short, it fits perfectly.

On the inside surface of this hand-crafted headband, you'll notice a label, which says, "L. Erickson USA". I had to find out more about this name, and discovered that Laurie Erickson is the founder of France Luxe, and her name appears on this headband as part of an exclusive line handmade in the United States.

I admit that with my dark brown hair, this hot pink headband looked just right, but keep in mind that Folica offers seven different colors in this classy but simple style if you're looking for something a little less "hot", because this is a very bright pink. It's perfect for all hair types from thick to fine, since it holds lightly but firmly in place. However, I did notice a very tiny flaw -- the loops and bars of the decorative bit are held together by a "jump ring", which is a simple metal ring that is supposed to form a closed circle, often used in jewelry to hold different pieces together. The jump ring on this headband was slightly open; though it wasn't about to separate, it looks like it might. If you do receive a headband with a slightly open jump ring, use either needle-nose pliers or, if you have them, round-tipped pliers to easily close the ring.
